Absentee reports
Who is missing, how often, and what has been done about it.
Where the data comes from
Attendance recorded by teachers in the lesson workspace, per session. There is no separate attendance system — the register is a by-product of teaching.
Reading the report
- Absence rate per student, per course and per section.
- Streaks — consecutive absences, which matter more than a total.
- Correlation with mastery, which is what turns an attendance number into an academic concern.
A student with 80% attendance and falling mastery is a more urgent case than one with 60% attendance and stable mastery. Read the two together.
Following up
Automated calls
Absentee follow-up can be placed as automated calls, with the outcome recorded — answered, no answer or voicemail. That gives a defensible record of contact attempts rather than a recollection.
Parent notification
Where a parent address is on the student record, notifications can be sent. A missing parent address means nothing is sent and no bounce is surfaced, so it is worth auditing those fields before you rely on them.
