Programs & subjects
The curriculum skeleton every course attaches to.
Programs
A program is a degree or a school class — the top of the curriculum tree. LEAP supports school classes, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, diplomas and doctoral programs.
Programs are why the same platform serves a school and a university: a school class and a degree are the same shape, differing in depth.
Subjects
Subjects sit within a program and are what courses are instances of. A subject is the standing definition; a course is one delivery of it to one cohort in one term.
Accreditation frameworks
Where your institution reports against an external framework, the framework and its versions are held here. Course outcomes map to framework items, which is what makes attainment reporting a query rather than a spreadsheet exercise at term end.
Plan this before bulk-loading anything
Restructuring programs after courses and enrolments exist means re-pointing everything underneath them. Agree the structure with your academic office first, then create it once.
