Teachers & students

Creating accounts one at a time, and what each role needs to be usable.

Creating an account

Accounts are created by an administrator — there is no self-registration. Each carries an institutional email, a role and an initial password.

The email address is the account identity. A teacher connecting Gmail must connect the same address, and a mismatch fails the connection — so get it right at creation rather than correcting it later.

Teachers

A teacher account needs a name, an institutional email and a role. Courses can be assigned at creation or by the teacher themselves. The teacher profile shows their courses, sections and performance history.

Students

A student account needs a name, an email, and a section. Parent contact details are worth capturing at creation: they are what parent notifications and Voice Feedback escalation use.

  • A student with no section is enrolled in nothing and will report an empty app.
  • A student with no phone number cannot be reached by Voice Feedback; the batch roster shows this before calling, not after.
  • A missing parent address means a report notification is silently not sent — bounces are not currently surfaced back into LEAP.

Profiles

A student profile collects enrolments, mastery across courses, attendance, risk level and report cards — the single view to open before a parent conversation.
