Institution setup & branding
The settings that make the platform your institution rather than a generic one.
Identity and branding
Institution name, short name, tagline and logo. These are not cosmetic — they appear on sign-in, on every report a teacher exports, on report cards, and in the emails the platform sends.
Branding is configuration, not code. Changing the logo changes it everywhere at once, with no deploy.
Claiming a subdomain
Each institution can have its own subdomain. On it, the institution picker disappears — users go straight to a branded sign-in — and branding, sign-in and email links all follow the subdomain.
A wildcard certificate covers tenant subdomains, so claiming one does not require a certificate change or a deploy. The shared address keeps working alongside it.
Academic calendar
Academic years and terms. Courses, schedules and reporting periods all hang off these, so set them before creating programs. Getting the term boundaries wrong later means every course schedule is offset.
The order to do this in
- 1Institution identity and branding
Name, logo, tagline, subdomain.
- 2Academic calendar
Years and terms.
- 3Programs and subjects
The curriculum skeleton.
- 4Teachers
They need to exist before courses can be assigned.
- 5Students and sections
Bulk upload, then rostering.
- 6Timetable
Last — it depends on everything above.
