Benchmarks
Comparing programs, departments and cohorts on the same basis.
What you can compare
- Programs against each other within the institution.
- Cohorts across terms — this year’s intake against last year’s at the same point.
- Sections of the same course taught by different faculty.
- Outcome attainment against your accreditation framework.
Why the comparison holds
Every course in LEAP decomposes to the same primitives — gates, outcomes, Bloom levels, per-question attempts. Two courses with entirely different content still produce comparable mastery and attainment numbers, because both are computed the same way from the same kind of evidence.
Where comparison breaks down
A course whose questions were never mapped to outcomes, or whose Bloom distribution is entirely remember, will look artificially strong. Check the underlying course is properly structured before drawing a conclusion from its position in a benchmark.
