Signing in & choosing your institution
How to reach LEAP, pick your institution, and what to do when the sign-in screen refuses you.
Where to sign in
Institutions reach LEAP one of two ways. Both land at the same application; the difference is only whether you have to identify your institution first.
On a subdomain there is exactly one institution, so the picker is skipped entirely — it would be a question with one possible answer.
Signing in
- 1Open your institution’s address
An administrator issues this — it is the address on your welcome email.
- 2Choose your institution, if asked
Only on the shared address. On a subdomain this step does not appear.
- 3Enter your institutional email and password
Your account uses the email address your institution registered — not a personal address. Sign-in is institution-agnostic: the same screen serves every role.
- 4You land in your role’s application
Teachers land on the faculty dashboard, students on their courses, admins on the institution dashboard, management on faculty performance. There is nothing to choose.
First time in
Your account is created by an administrator, individually or as part of a bulk upload — you cannot self-register. The first password is issued with the account and should be changed once you are in.
- Teachers — your courses may already exist if an admin created them, or you may create the first one yourself.
- Students — enrolment is done for you. If a course is missing, it is a rostering question for your administrator, not something you can fix.
When sign-in fails
Sessions and signing out
The application holds a bearer token rather than a host-locked cookie, which is what lets a subdomain and the shared address share one session model. Tokens refresh silently while you are working. Signing out clears the session on that browser only — connecting on a laptop does not sign you in on a phone.
