Taking a quiz & exam mode
Normal quizzes, timed exams, and what exam mode records.
A normal quiz
Answer, move between questions, and submit. Your answers are saved as you go — a dropped connection or a closed tab does not lose the attempt, and you resume where you left off.
The navigator shows which questions you have answered and which you have flagged for review, so you can find your way back at the end.
Exam mode
A locked-down attempt. Your teacher decides whether an assessment uses it.
- The timer runs server-side. Closing the laptop does not pause it.
- Full screen is enforced. Leaving it is recorded.
- Tab switches are recorded as attempt events, with the timer still running.
- Navigation may be restricted to forward-only, at your teacher’s discretion.
Repeated full-screen exits or tab switches can trigger a warning and then an automatic submit. If your machine did something unexpected, tell your teacher — the events are visible to them and they can see what happened.
Proctored attempts
Some assessments — usually public entrance tests — ask for camera and microphone access first. The analysis runs entirely in your browser: it produces observations such as “no face visible” or “voice detected”, and only those observations are sent. Video and audio do not leave your device. Observations do not fail you automatically; a teacher reads them alongside your attempt.
Results
Common questions
My connection dropped mid-attempt.
Your answers were saved as you went. Sign back in and reopen the assessment — you resume where you were. In exam mode the timer kept running.
I cannot see my marks.
Some assessments hold results until the teacher releases them, or until the assessment closes. That is a setting on the assessment, not a fault.
The quiz will not open.
Check the opening time, and check the gate is unlocked. An assessment attached to a locked gate will not open.
I think a question was marked wrongly.
Raise it with your teacher. They can override any mark, and an override recomputes your mastery automatically.
